Rostrevor Shedders Enjoy Session On How To Feed Winter Birds In The Garden
January 24, 2016
To help the birds in the gardens of Rostrevor and the surrounding area, and to coincide with the upcoming event hosted by the RSPB (Big Garden Birdwatch on 30-31 January), the Rostrevor Men’s Shed, under the guidance of fellow shedder Stephen Boyle, made bird feeders in St Bronagh’s GAA Club to help birds find that essential morsel when food is scarce.
The new Men’s Shed has got off to a great start and shedder Stephen said: “By making home made birds feeders we are helping them to survive and to bring wildlife in our gardens. There are an amazing number of species in the area and it’s just great to hear the chatter of birds in the garden.”
Chairman Mark Gibbons said: “It’s amazing what you can build and recycle with just the old contents from our blue bins. The birds of Rostrevor, Warrenpoint and Hilltown will be enjoying some lovely feeds over the next few weeks”
