As part of our ongoing programme of skills-sharing and educational activities, the Shedders recently enjoyed an informative and hands-on session on Aerial Photography and Drone Technology, delivered by fellow member Connor Sweeney.

Connor provided a clear and engaging overview of modern drone operation, covering key topics such as how drones function, the types of aerial footage they can capture, and the safety considerations involved in responsible flying. His presentation combined technical insight with practical advice, making the subject accessible to members of all experience levels.

To complement the indoor session, the group then walked to Kilbroney Park for a live outdoor demonstration. Connor showcased the drones in action, explaining flight controls, manoeuvring techniques, and the capabilities of onboard cameras. Members were able to see first-hand how aerial images and video are captured, providing a valuable learning experience.
