Guinness Storehouese, Dublin
On Saturday 19th November, a group of our Shedders headed off to Dublin for a tour of the iconic Guinness Storehouse.
It was an early start, with the coach from Eamon Rooney Coaches rolling out of Rostrevor just after 8am. Spirits were high from the moment we set off, and the buzz on the bus set the tone for the day.
Our guide, Dan, led us through the Storehouse’s seven floors — an incredible visitor experience dedicated to the story, science, craft, and heritage behind one of the world’s most famous beers.
From the ingredients to the brewing process to the history of Guinness advertising, every stop had something fascinating to take in.
The exhibition even featured artefacts from some of the most memorable Guinness adverts of years gone by, triggering plenty of nostalgia and a few laughs from the group.
After the tour, the group made their way up to the Gravity Bar, known as the “Head of the Pint”. The panoramic views of Dublin were outstanding — and made even better by the complimentary pint in hand.
A lot of us agreed that it doesn’t get much better than a view like that.
On the way home, we rounded off the trip with a great lunch at the City North Hotel, giving everyone a chance to sit together, share stories from the day, and enjoy a well-earned meal before the journey back to Rostrevor.
A huge word of thanks goes to Top Shedder Patsy Curran, who organised yet another fantastic day out. These trips are always about more than the destination — they’re about the friendships, the craic, and the memories we make along the way.
Another brilliant adventure for the Shed.
